The Slaughterhouse, is a 1982 Egyptian movie, directed by Ahmed El-Sabawy, and starring Madiha Kamel, Samir Sabri, Adel Adham. with a runtime of 130 minutes.
Al-Slakhana (The Slaughterhouse) is an Egyptian drama film set against the cutthroat world of market traders and slaughterhouse commerce. The story opens with the powerful merchant Abu Halqa cornering the market, buying up all the livestock and establishing himself as the sole dominant force — effectively marginalizing his rival, Teacher Najm. Outmaneuvered and resentful, Najm grudgingly agrees to a truce and seals it by betrothing his daughter Safaa to Abu Halqa's son, engineer Alaa. But beneath the surface peace, old grudges fester. On the very night of the wedding celebration, Najm secretly conspires with one of his men to assassinate Omar, Abu Halqa's eldest son. The film is a gripping portrait of mercantile power struggles, treacherous alliances, and the violence lurking beneath forced reconciliations in Egypt's working-class underworld.
