On the Stage of Life is an Egyptian romantic drama built around a daring social experiment where theatrical performance bleeds into real feeling. Wafiya is left psychologically scarred after her fiance Amin abandons her on their wedding night, spreading a false rumor that she is ill with tuberculosis. Her sister Ramzia and brother-in-law Rushdi devise a plan: Rushdi will play the role of Wafiya's devoted admirer, hoping to help her heal. But as the performance deepens, the line between what is acted and what is genuinely felt begins to dissolve — and both Rushdi and Wafiya find themselves drifting toward something neither of them planned for.
