Salha Kasin

A theatrical actress, known for her beauty. She was discovered by Mahmoud Hegazy, brother of Salama Hegazy. She was born in Cairo to a Jewish family. She is considered the first woman to act on stage instead of men. In 1904, she worked with Sheikh Salama Hegazy and worked in the play (The Victim of Ghawiya). She also worked in the Aziz Eid troupe and the play (King Yahub), and she worked in the Naguib Al-Rihani Theater. She converted to Islam in 1929 while her sister, Gracia, immigrated to Israel. She acted in more than 180 films, and was afflicted with Alzheimer's disease at the end of her life.
