Dananeir, is a 1940 Egyptian movie, directed by Ahmad Badrakhan, and starring Umm Kulthum, Soliman Naguib, Fouad Shafiq. with a runtime of 90 minutes.
Dananeir is a historical Arabic drama set during the Abbasid Caliphate, inspired by the legendary story of Dananeir, a Bedouin woman whose captivating voice is discovered by the powerful minister Jaafar Al-Barmaki in the desert. He brings her to Baghdad to study singing under the master Ibrahim Al-Mawsili, and when she performs before Caliph Harun Al-Rashid, she quickly becomes his favorite singer. Her rise to prominence, however, unfolds against a backdrop of mounting court intrigue and conspiracies targeting Jaafar — plots that will ultimately seal his tragic fate.
