The Life of Darkness is an Egyptian family drama that traces the fall of a young man from a middle-class home who graduates with a law degree his father had long dreamed of. His descent is gradual but devastating: squandering his father's money, stealing his mother's jewelry to feed a mistress's demands, and ultimately triggering a tragedy that claims his mother's life.
