The Troublemaker is an Egyptian social drama following Hamouda, a hardworking port laborer who rises to become a foreman and dreams of establishing a workers' union to protect his colleagues from exploitation. His ambitions put him on a collision course with a corrupt network of workers' exploiters who profit from stolen goods moving through the port. Framed and imprisoned to silence him, Hamouda's spirit remains unbroken — and when he is finally released, his devoted fiancée Nousa is there waiting. A story of working-class perseverance, solidarity, and the cost of standing up to systemic corruption.
