Al-Dalou'a is an Egyptian comedy play centered on Anwar, a simple, good-natured employee exploited by his two supposed friends Quince and Canary. His uneventful life takes a turn when a tire blowout outside his home brings him face to face with Fakreya, a woman he quickly falls for. Their budding romance hits an immediate wall in the form of her father, the wealthy Al-Zafarani, who flatly refuses the match. The play builds its laughs from the escalating obstacles standing between an ordinary man and love, delivering a classic comedy of social class and romantic persistence.
