An actor of Lebanese-Palestinian origin, his full name is (Abdul Salam Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi). He was born in Akkar, north of Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1899, but his roots go back to the Palestinian city of Nablus, where his grandfather was the first judge of Nablus, and after him his father. When he reached the age of twenty, his father sent him to Egypt in the hope of receiving his education at al-Azhar al-Sharif, and he actually memorized the Qur’an and excelled in the Arabic language in addition to French and English. In 1925, Abdel Salam went through the journalistic experience and worked in more than one magazine, such as: (Heliopolis and Al-Sabah), and in 1929 he had the opportunity to experience the artistic experience at the hands of Mrs. Asia in the movie (Ghada of the Desert), but it was not the key to his entry into stardom, but rather the movie (Prick of Conscience) came in 1931 to achieve that goal for him. Abdel Salam was not satisfied with being a successful actor, but also turned to directing and working as an assistant director, especially with the artist (Youssef Wehbe). However, in 1947, he devoted himself to acting again after his demands increased for many roles in the comedic films in which he always starred. As his fame increased, his taxes also increased, which made him decide to return again to Lebanon. There he became director of the United Film Company and produced several films, including (Babe of the Masses). Abdel Salam married Georgette Sabat at a late age after he was called the most famous bachelor in the artistic community. In 1968, Abdel Salam died as a result of a severe heart attack, contrary to what he told everyone that he was suffering from a malignant disease in his stomach. This was so that directors would not neglect him in assigning comedic roles to him in their films.
