Overview

How Can I Forget You is a classic Egyptian musical romance starring the golden-voiced Farid al-Atrash alongside Sabah and Nadia Jamal. The film follows two orphaned sisters — one a singer, the other a dancer — who flee their exploitative mother and her scheming husband to seek refuge with a celebrated musical star. When Farid al-Atrash discovers the elder sister's extraordinary singing talent, he takes her under his wing and love quietly blooms between them. But jealousy intervenes when a rival woman conspires with an accomplice to deceive the singer and separate the two lovers. A melodious, emotionally rich film from Egypt's golden age of cinema.
