Overview

Ilhiquni Bialmadhun is an Egyptian comedy film following Nabqa, an industrious seamstress on a mission to find a husband. She spots a newspaper matrimonial advertisement by a man named Gamil Gamal, and the two become engaged. However, her plans are thrown into disarray when a thief on a train steals her wallet, which contains her engagement papers and identity card. The thief exploits the stolen documents to pass herself off as a woman of noble standing, setting off a chain of comic misunderstandings and identity mix-ups. The film is a lively farce that pokes fun at social pretension and the sometimes absurd rituals of matchmaking in Egyptian society, built around an escalating series of comedic situations.
