The Apple Seller is an Egyptian romantic comedy inspired by the classic Pygmalion premise. A wealthy young man wagers with a friend that he can transform a poor apple seller he once encountered into a fully polished aristocrat capable of passing in elite society. After a long and painstaking transformation, he introduces her at a grand social event — a triumph on the surface. But as their time together deepens, the young man realizes he has genuinely fallen in love with her. The girl, however, is devastated when she discovers she was never more than the subject of a bet, turning the story into a bittersweet romantic drama about class, identity, and the cost of deception.
