Al-Muwajaha (Confrontation) is an Egyptian drama rooted in the blood feuds and tribal codes of Upper Egypt. Mahmoud, a man of standing in his village, leaves his hometown after offering his own shroud to end a violent dispute between his family and the powerful Al-Hawara clan led by Salim. Despite Mahmoud's efforts at peacemaking — including protecting Salim from an assassination attempt — Salim's son murders Mahmoud's daughter Fatima, triggering a renewed quest for vengeance. Suspicion falls on a relative of Atiyat, a widow Mahmoud had previously protected, and Salim demands justice on his own terms.
