Joys is an Egyptian comedy-drama following Tawfik, a man drowning in debt who inherits his late relative's estate as the sole heir. He sells off her furniture to pay his creditors, only to learn — too late — that she had hidden a precious jewel inside one of the pieces he sold. To make matters worse, the furniture has already been shipped to Lebanon. Tawfik travels to Beirut on a frantic search to recover the jewel, while a criminal gang closes in, also after the same prize. A lighthearted yet suspenseful film that sends its hapless hero across borders in pursuit of a fortune slipping through his fingers.
