
An Egyptian actor, director, and writer, he was born in the village of Tami Al-Amdid in Dakahlia Governorate in 1936 to a family of seven children, and he was ranked second to last. His artistic talent shined since he was a student in high school and at Cairo University, where he directed and acted in several plays until he won the gold medal in the Universities Cup competition. He graduated from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts in 1960. When Fouad Al-Muhandis saw him in one of the plays he participated in at the university, he chose him to participate in the play (I, He, and She) in 1964. Then the Egyptian public knew him after he participated in establishing the band (The Theater Lights Trio) in 1967, which shined in the sixties era by presenting many comedy plays and musical sketches. Among his most prominent theatrical works are: (Cooking for Angels, A Romantic Visit, and The Man Who Married His Wife). In cinema, he acted in many films, including (The Three Friends, Modern Marriage, 30 Days in Prison, and Fun Beach). He also wrote the movie (A Quarter Dozen Villains). He died in 1970 at the age of 34.
