How Sad You Are, Love is an Egyptian drama charting the ambitions and heartbreaks of Issa Abdel Ghaffar, a determined young man who dedicates years of his life to working in a factory with the singular dream of one day owning it. Through persistence, he convinces the factory owner to take him on as a partner with a quarter share of the capital. But fate intervenes when the owner suddenly dies, leaving his wife Sharifa and their daughter as the majority heirs. Rather than honoring the partnership, the two women begin consolidating power and actively working to suppress Issa's growing ambitions. The film is a compelling portrait of a man caught between the promise of success and the cruel turns that life and love can take.
