Mujrim Taht Al-Ikhtibار is an Egyptian thriller built around a case of dangerous mistaken identity. When a film company begins producing a movie about a notorious criminal presumed dead, an amateur actor who bears a striking resemblance to him sees an opportunity to break into the business. But the real criminal — very much alive — spots the actor's photo in a film advertisement and hatches a plan to use the lookalike as cover. He sends his lover to lure the actor away and assumes his identity, setting off a tense and suspenseful chain of deception that blurs the line between fiction and deadly reality.
