The Victory of Youth (Intisar al-Shabab) is an Egyptian musical romance celebrating the triumph of ambition and dignity over poverty and social barriers. Young composer Waheed and his talented singer sister Nadia struggle to make ends meet, finding work at a nightclub only to lose it when Nadia refuses to entertain patrons on demand, choosing self-respect over a steady income. Cast adrift, the siblings endure hardship before love enters their lives — Nadia catching the attention of the wealthy Mohi despite his mother's fierce objections, and Waheed falling for a girl from a prosperous family. Both siblings fight for their right to love across class lines, and Waheed ultimately realizes his greatest dream by staging the operetta he has spent years composing. A warm, uplifting story about youth, art, love, and perseverance.
