Alziyarat Al Akhira (The Last Visit) is an Egyptian social drama revolving around a mother's determination to secure a wealthy match for her son with his cousin Ihsan. Her son, however, falls for the impoverished Souad, only to be devastated when he discovers she has a troubled past. His Azhar-educated neighbor urges him to marry Souad as an act of redemption and compassion. Standing firmly in opposition is his mother, who deploys every means at her disposal to prevent the union. The film is a nuanced exploration of moral conflict, the tension between religious idealism and social pragmatism, and a mother's complex love that can sometimes do more harm than good.
