Overview

Under a Quarter is an Egyptian social drama following Shukriya, a woman abandoned by her lover Khalil after she falls pregnant with twins, then widowed by his violent death. Cast into poverty, she turns to begging to survive, only to fall into the orbit of Abbas, the ruthless king of Cairo's street beggars. Their marriage unravels when Shukriya discovers Abbas runs a drug trafficking operation beneath his charitable facade.
