The Road to Eilat is an Egyptian war film that recreates one of the most daring military operations of the 1969 War of Attrition. A courageous unit of Egyptian combat divers carries out a bold underwater assault on the Israeli military port of Eilat, successfully destroying two warships — Bat Sheva and Bat Yam — that had been striking Egyptian positions in the Red Sea. Set in the tense period following Israel's occupation of Sinai, the film is a tribute to the bravery of the Egyptian armed forces in the years leading up to the October War.
