Mamdouh El Leithy

Mamdouh El-Laithi is an Egyptian film producer and screenwriter. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in police, as well as a bachelor’s degree in law from Ain Shams University in 1960. He also obtained a diploma from the Scenario Institute in 1964. At the beginning of his life, he worked in journalism and wrote many stories on the pages of magazines, (Sabah Al-Khair), (Police) magazine, and (Al-Shaab) newspaper. He was still a police student in the period from 1957 to 1960, then he worked as a police officer between Cairo and Fayoum until 1967, but he left the police. He headed to the field that he had always loved and moved between several positions, such as: Head of the Screenplay Department in 1967, Supervisor of Scripts, Screenplays and Preparation in 1973, Supervisor of Dramatic Films, in 1979, General Manager of Television Films in 1982, Head of Television Films in 1985, Head of the Production Sector at the Radio and Television Union, in 1985, President of the Egyptian Society of Film Writers and Critics, and President of the Cinematographers Syndicate. Mamdouh is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian stars in the field of screenwriting and television work. He was distinguished by his brilliant ability to choose topics that deal with the political, economic and social conditions that surround humans.
