Al-Qadisiyya is an Iraqi historical epic film depicting the legendary Battle of Qadisiyyah, fought in 636 A.D., in which the Arab Muslim general Saad ibn Abi Waqqas led an army of 30,000 warriors against the vast Persian Empire. Set in the era of the early Islamic caliphate following the death of the renowned commander Al-Muthanna ibn Haritha Al-Shaybani, the film chronicles how faith and sacrifice enabled Muslim forces to conquer Persia and spread Islam throughout the region. A large-scale production that reconstructs one of the most pivotal turning points in Islamic civilization, Al-Qadisiyya blends battlefield spectacle with religious and nationalistic fervor.
