The Poor Girl Gets Married is an Egyptian romantic comedy following Sokkar, a street vendor who sells tissues while waiting for her boyfriend Abu Samra to fulfill his promise of marriage. When Hisham, a wealthy businessman, spots her and proposes, she is swept up in a new dream. But on their wedding night, his true intentions are revealed, and Sokkar flees — rushing back to marry Abu Samra. Yet Hisham refuses to let go so easily. The film blends warm Egyptian folk comedy with a lively love triangle, celebrating the resilience and street-smart spirit of Cairo's working-class women.
