Almilyunayr alsaeuluk is an Egyptian comedy-drama about a poor young man whose ambitions far exceed his means. Convinced that wealth is the key to everything, he assumes the false identity of a millionaire recently returned from abroad — and the ruse works well enough to win him the affections of a beautiful young woman. When she inevitably discovers the truth, he loses not just her but everyone around him. As his circumstances deteriorate, he is left to confront the gap between the life he imagined and the one he actually has. The film is a bittersweet reflection on social aspiration and the price of deception.
