Anklet Ring is an Egyptian social drama centred on a destitute young woman who loses her footing after her father's death and survives on the goodwill of an elderly baker. When he learns she is ill, he takes her in as a maid — an act of charity that soon transforms into something far more complicated. Once she finds comfort and security under his roof, the young woman begins to exert her charm over both the old man and his son. The son rebuffs her advances, but the patriarch is captivated and eventually marries her, forcing his original wife and son to share their home with the new arrival. The film is a probing look at vulnerability, manipulation, and the social structures that shape women's choices.
