The novelist is an Egyptian, born in the village of Mahalla Malek, Desouk Center in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, on March 31, 1912. Then his family moved to Damanhour when he was young, and from here he grew up and later worked in Damanhour. Amin Youssef Ghurab never went to school, nor did he learn an organized education in his life. He also did not read a single letter until he was seventeen years old, despite growing up in a wealthy family. However, it seems that his parents did not take him seriously, so he lived pampered. He is the only child. He is affluent and has begun to gain knowledge and read everything he can find of Arabic literature and translated Western literature. After these readings, Amin Youssef Ghorab began to discover in himself the seed of a writer, so he wrote the first short story. When Al-Sabah magazine announced a short story competition in which our budding writer participated, he won first place About the story “The Milkmaid” in 1940. Two years after that date, Amin Youssef Ghurab became a professional writer After Professor Muhammad Al-Tabei published his story “At Home” in Akhir Sa’a magazine in April 1942, Al-Tabei admired it greatly, then had him write the story for the issue in the magazine. For many years, Amin Youssef Ghorab lived most of his life in the countryside. He did not move to Cairo until 1949, and he was thirty-seven years old at the time. After he was satisfied with the life of the countryside, its values, ideals, customs and traditions, he carried with him to Cairo his first experiences in the countryside. Perhaps this explains to us that most of the characters in his stories come from the depths of the countryside Such as the stories (Pomegranate of the Gardens, Sheikha Ghazal, One Hundred Chickens and a Red Rooster, and Another Man's Wife) and others, all of which are also among his finest stories on the artistic level. In Cairo, Amin Youssef Ghorab worked in several jobs. He started as a simple clerk in the railway printing press in 1949, then as secretary of the Railway Authority in 1951. Until he moved to work as Director of Public Relations at the Supreme Council for Arts, Literature and Social Sciences (currently the Supreme Council for Culture) since 1956, and he remained in this position until God passed away on December 27, 1970, after he was exposed to a severe cold, which resulted in severe bleeding that took his life, and thus he died at the age of 58 years. Among his artistic works: The film Youth of a Woman The Ambassador Aziza film The film Teach Me Love The Ring of Ankhal film The film Crime of Love
