Overview

Rajul La Ynam (A Sleepless Man) is a classic Egyptian drama starring the legendary Youssef Wahbi as Dr. Mounir Saber, a principled and dedicated physician whose orderly life unravels after a fateful train journey. He encounters Khamriya, a cabaret dancer played by Madiha Youssri, who is suffering from liver deterioration caused by heavy drinking, and what begins as a medical case soon becomes a consuming love affair. Khamriya exploits the doctor's infatuation, draining his finances to fund her thuggish lover Jalal Abu Mashtar, portrayed by Farid Shawky. Najma Ibrahim co-stars as the doctor's jealous, ailing wife. A gripping tale of obsession, manipulation, and the fall of an idealist, the film remains a cornerstone of Egyptian golden-era cinema.
