Raghabat Mamnou'aa is an Egyptian social drama that exposes the suffocating grip of domestic tyranny. Attia al-Jabalawi rules his household with an iron fist — his sister Tafida attempts to flee his control to marry the man she loves, only to return after he is killed, while his daughter Samia is denied schooling from childhood and condemned to illiteracy. When Azza, a university classmate of Attia's son Ahmed, enters Samia's life, she brings with her the first real hope for change. The series is an unflinching look at how obsessive control destroys the lives of the women forced to live under it.
