Overview
Jawahar is an Egyptian social drama built around the miserly Abdul Ghani, played by Sharafnat, whose iron grip on his fortune stands in stark contrast to his family's deprivation. His daughter Jawahar, played by Hajar Hamdi, lives in poverty despite her father's hidden wealth, while her aunt Umm Khalil, played by the legendary Mary Munib, indulges herself freely and dominates the household. Abdul Ghani's estate agent Rizk, played by Abdul Hamid Zaki, runs the properties with equal harshness, sparing no tenant who falls behind on rent. The film is a sharp-edged portrait of greed, domestic misery, and the absurdity of hoarding wealth at the cost of one's own family.
