Spirit of Survival is an Egyptian drama series that probes the moral wreckage left in the wake of political repression. Police General Hemat uses Sergeant Abbas as an instrument of coercion, ordering him to torture political detainees — among them the principled Dr. Shawki. After Shawki's release, Abbas descends into drug addiction, his own life disintegrating under the weight of what he has done. His wife Nour, desperate and unaware of the full picture, reaches out to Dr. Shawki for help — not knowing that her husband was once his tormentor. The series examines cycles of violence, complicity, and unexpected grace, asking whether redemption is possible when the lines between victims and perpetrators blur.
