Al-Moallem Bulbul is an Egyptian comedy film set in the world of cinema production. When the lead actress of a director's film abruptly decides to retire from acting and get married, the production grinds to a halt. Desperate to finish his work, the director sets out to find a replacement and stumbles upon a young woman working at a café owned by a man known as Al-Moallem Bulbul — she bears a striking resemblance to the original actress. He recruits her to secretly step in, and the plan seems to be working until the married actress unexpectedly returns from her honeymoon, triggering a cascade of comic misunderstandings that blur the line between reel life and real life.
