Overview

Body and Passion is a classic Egyptian melodrama starring Naglaa Fathy as Hoda, a young woman whose happiness collapses in a series of devastating blows. Her relationship with Dr. Ahmed, played by Mahmoud Yassine, is shattered when he leaves for a doctoral fellowship abroad; then her father dies amid a financial crisis; and the news of Ahmed's plane crash pushes her to the edge. Her friend Dolat, played by Soheir El-Bably, draws her into a world of nightclubs and disreputable company. When Hoda learns Ahmed survived, she pens him a final letter confessing everything — only for him to arrive and find her dying from a self-inflicted overdose. A tragic study of a woman undone by grief and circumstance.
