He studied medicine and surgery at Ain Shams University, and obtained his bachelor's degree in 1982. He is a director and writer, and has many artistic works that carry new visions. Including the television series “A Man in the Age of Globalization,” “Window on the World,” and “Moon 14.” He also wrote the script for many films, including “The Gentleman” and “Rendezvous.” Al-Shamaa's latest work is the film "Al-Fajoumi", for which he wrote the script and directed it. It tells the story of the life of the Egyptian poet "Ahmed Fouad Negm". In 2011, Al-Shamaa was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Writers and Critics Association.
