Overview

Al-Horob (The Escape) is an Egyptian drama film starring Ahmed Zaki as Mountasir, a young man from Upper Egypt whose life spirals into crime and tragedy after falling under the influence of a corrupt labor broker named Midhat. Framed and imprisoned by Midhat, Mountasir endures a devastating double betrayal — his old friend Saeed steals from him while his wife is coerced into prostitution. Upon his release, Mountasir is consumed by a singular drive for revenge against those who destroyed his life. Ahmed Zaki delivers a compelling portrait of a man pushed beyond his limits by systemic injustice and personal treachery.
