Gabr Elkhawater is an Egyptian drama series set inside a psychiatric facility in Alexandria, where Nawal, a schizophrenia patient, is fighting an invisible battle: her ex-husband has taken their only son, leaving her without rights or recourse. Dr. Shaker, moved by her plight, decides to advocate for her — only to uncover something far more sinister lurking within the institution itself. The asylum's director is secretly planning to exploit the patients as unwitting subjects in dangerous and unethical medical experiments. The series confronts questions of human dignity, institutional corruption, and the vulnerability of those society most readily forgets.
