Overview

Tea Seller is an Egyptian drama film that follows Afaf, a former dancer who leaves her past behind to marry Morsi and start fresh working in a modest café. Her quiet life is upended by Mansour, a ruthless opportunist who falsely implicates Morsi in a drug trafficking charge and engineers their divorce. Desperate and alone, Afaf is forced to return to dancing — and Mansour, ever calculating, exploits her vulnerability to use her as an unwitting drug courier. A gritty portrait of manipulation and female vulnerability in Egyptian underworld settings, the film traces one woman's struggle to survive the schemes of those who see her only as a means to an end.
