Overview

Al-Ashiqa (The Lover) is an Egyptian romantic drama that traces the far-reaching consequences of a brother's jealous scheme. When Jawdat discovers his sister Samia's relationship with Hussein, he engineers a rift between them, driving Hussein away from Luxor to seek a new life in Cairo, where he finds work as a musician in a nightclub.
