Layl waraghba is an Egyptian drama that explores the destructive consequences of paternal injustice. The cruel and domineering Hussein openly favors one of his two half-sons over the other: Shawqi receives an education and every opportunity life can offer, while Yousry is forced to labor in the family workshop, denied any chance to better himself. The wound deepens when Hussein pressures Shawqi to marry Laila — the woman Yousry loves and had hoped to wed. The series examines how unchecked patriarchal power can fracture family bonds and deny basic fairness, leaving Yousry to carry both the loss of his dreams and the pain of watching the woman he loves become his brother's wife.
