Mesk and Anbar is an Egyptian musical comedy that follows two young friends, Mesk and Anbar, each in love with one of their cousins. To win the girls' hands, Mesk disguises himself as a woman to convince the girls' father and uncle that a long-absent wealthy aunt has returned from abroad. The ruse works too well — the uncle falls for the disguise and covets the supposed fortune. The comedy escalates when Anbar's uncle arrives as a rival suitor, and then the real American aunt appears from the United States, sending the entire scheme into delightful chaos.
