The Two Drifters is an Egyptian drama film that follows a man freshly released from prison who discovers the outside world holds nothing for him — no family, no home, and no work. Desperate to return to the only place he felt secure, he deliberately commits crimes to get re-arrested, but the police persistently ignore his efforts. Hovering between dark comedy and raw social commentary, the film exposes the tragedy of men society discards, until an old friend finally extends a hand with an honest job offer. A poignant portrait of loneliness and the prison society builds around its most vulnerable.
