Overview

Lolaki is an Egyptian romantic drama set against the music industry of the early cassette era. Saeed is a young and unknown singer performing with his band at weddings and social events in Marsa Matrouh, dreaming of a bigger stage. His fortunes change when Salwa, the heiress to her late father's cassette production company, organizes a new voices competition — and Saeed wins. The album she produces for him, titled Lolaki, becomes a major hit and transforms the company's fortunes. As professional collaboration deepens into something more personal, the film becomes a warm story about ambition, opportunity, and the unexpected ways love finds us.
