Al-Thulathiya is a landmark Egyptian drama series adapted from Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz's celebrated Cairo Trilogy. The series stars the late Mahmoud Morsi in an iconic performance as Al-Sayyid Ahmad Abd al-Jawad, a powerful patriarch whose public persona of strict morality and iron discipline conceals a very different private life of indulgence and pleasure that he pursues far from his family's eyes. Set against the backdrop of Egypt in the years leading up to the 1919 Revolution, the drama offers a sweeping portrait of a society in transformation — capturing political ferment, shifting social norms, and the hidden hypocrisies that bind families together and tear them apart.
