Heatwave is an Egyptian social drama series exploring the Al-Agaty family after the sudden loss of their patriarch. Left to hold the family together, the mother navigates the sharply diverging worlds of her two sons. The elder, played by Iyad Nassar, is a vice squad police officer whose violent methods create professional trouble and strain his marriage. The younger is a passionate leftist revolutionary whose idealism repeatedly puts the family in harm's way. Their lives intersect with neighbors like Hamada Ghazlan, played by Sayed Ragab, a man known for his murky business dealings. The series builds a layered portrait of Egyptian society through the prism of one fractured family.
