Daona Nhib is a romantic Egyptian drama film that follows Ahmed, a young man from the countryside who travels to Cairo for university and falls in love with his classmate Suheir, quickly proposing to her. Simultaneously, his brother Hussein secretly gets engaged to Mona, concealing the relationship from their controlling mother, who is determined to choose her sons' wives herself. When both engagements come to light, their mother launches a campaign to sabotage the relationships — particularly driving a wedge between Hussein and Mona. The film is a warm yet sharp look at generational conflict, parental authority, and the right to choose one's own partner.
