The Shepherd and the Women is an Egyptian psychological drama set in the remote desert home of widow Wafaa, who lives with her teenage daughter Salma and her late husband Kamel's sister, Azza. When Hassan—an ex-convict who shared a prison cell with Wafaa's husband—arrives at their door offering his help, the three women are initially reluctant. Once he moves in, however, his presence stirs suppressed desires in each of them, and a quiet competition for his affections takes hold. A tense, intimate portrait of loneliness, longing, and the complicated dynamics of an isolated household.
