Al-Kashash is an Egyptian comedy play that revels in the antics of con artists and their unexpected comeuppance. Azuz, played by Sayed Ziad, devises a bold scheme: steal a million pounds from Fatouh, a wealthy currency trader portrayed by Wahid Seif, and from one of Fatouh's Upper Egyptian clients, Nasseh, played by Ahmed Adam. His unusual plan to hide from the victims is to check himself into prison voluntarily. But Nasseh refuses to let the matter rest and tracks Azuz all the way behind bars, triggering an escalating series of comic confrontations. Blending popular Egyptian comedy with elements of light suspense, the play uses its absurdist premise to take a satirical look at greed, cunning, and the delightful ways that even the cleverest schemes can unravel.
