Overview

Tariq al-Abtal is an Egyptian romantic drama film that unfolds through a woman's memories triggered at a ceremony honoring martyrs of the Palestine War. Once a carefree socialite, she recalls how she loved a gifted writer but was pressured into rejecting him, sending him away under the false pretense that her feelings were never real. He eventually enlists and rises to officer rank before heading to the Palestinian front. Compelled by guilt and longing, the woman volunteers as a nurse and finds herself at the same front — and face to face with the man she never stopped loving. A moving portrait of love, regret, and redemption set against the backdrop of war.
