Overview

100,000 Pounds is a classic Arabic comedy film built around an irresistible inheritance premise. A wealthy man dies and bequeaths his fortune jointly to two beneficiaries — a Syrian and a man known as Uncle Othman — on one condition: whichever of them is unmarried must wed a beautiful young woman within fifteen days. The Syrian falsely claims to be single, triggering a farcical competition between the two men as each maneuvers to win the prize. When the deception is finally uncovered, Uncle Othman is left holding both the fortune and the heart of the woman he loves, in a satisfying comedic resolution that delighted Egyptian audiences.
