Overview
The Night Watchman is an Egyptian comedy film following Osman, a poor man under constant pressure from a demanding wife, who finally lands a job as a night guard. On his very first shift, the shop he is supposed to protect is robbed and Osman is fired for negligence. Out of this shared misfortune, an unlikely friendship develops between Osman and the shop owner Azzouz — and the two are astonished to discover that Osman is a dead ringer for the gang's ringleader. What follows is a comedic plot to use the resemblance as a trap, with Osman going undercover to catch the criminal who got him fired.
