Satan in the City, is a 1978 Egyptian movie, directed by Samir Seif, and starring Mahmoud Yassin, Farid Shawqy, Mervat Amin. with a runtime of 110 minutes.
Satan in the City is an Egyptian crime drama that exposes the predatory underbelly of Cairo through the story of Mansour, a seasoned con artist who preys on newcomers arriving in the capital. His latest mark is Sharif, a naive young man whom Mansour dazzles with false claims of wealth before arranging for him to stay at a hotel owned by Tahiya, who lives there with her daughter Sawsan. At the hotel, Sharif befriends the kind-hearted elderly uncle Gouda — but behind the scenes, Mansour draws Sharif into a criminal conspiracy to murder Sawsan's father and Tahiya's husband in pursuit of his fortune, with the promise of splitting the proceeds. The film is a tense and atmospheric portrait of moral corruption, urban predation, and the ease with which innocence can be weaponized.
